Tourism in El Salvador has grown significantly, driven by female entrepreneurship that fosters local economic and social development despite persistent gender gaps. This study, based on a mixed method approach and a sample of 103 women entrepreneurs in tourist municipalities of the western region, highlights their contributions to job creation, microeconomic dynamization, and the implementation of initiatives strengthen sustainability and require gender sensitive public policies aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG´s) 5, 8, and 10.
